Wedding of Jenni and Phil at Raas Devigarh

Jenni and Phil never visited Devigarh Palace before arriving for their wedding but this amazing boutique heritage location stole their heart just by looking at pictures. When they arrived, they could see the dream of a fairytale wedding already coming true. A three days celebration was a great mix of local flavour and Indo-western culture. A relaxed Boho style welcome dinner, colourful yet elegant Mehendi, an elephant themed royal sangeet celebration, english wedding and finally an indo-western sit down Dinner.

Their taste of “minimalism” match ours and we gladly made them surprised of how elegantly the venues looked to bring out the already superb aesthetics.

Camp site setup for the friends was itself a three days party!

Jenni as a non-Indian bride and Phil coming from a non-typical north Indian background were very excited and inclined to fuse their own wedding traditions and also include typical north Indian festivities as well. They celebrated their big day at the magnificent Palace “Raas Devigarh” to showcase Rajasthani royalty.

The fusion was well reflected not only into the overall schedule of events but also into choice of décor, selection of food, the Music the Entertainment and personalisation like the Welcome Note to the Luggage Tag.

A Rajasthani welcome was organised at the check in for all the guests, the afternoon was consumed to practise a dance by close friends and family. Worth noticing, most of the guests visited India for the first time and this Bollywood style of dance session was an amazing start of a colourful and exciting three days journey.

In the evening, a welcome dinner was hosted in very “Bo-ho” style with a relaxed ambience, drinks, pass around food and live music by Artists from Jodhpur.

Day two started with Mehendi at the Pool side into colourful Cabanas and contemporary settings, lawn games and street style food added to the completely new experience for the overseas guests. In the evening interestingly, we hosted a “Baraat Party” for them merging into Sangeet celebration. Both Jenni and Phil arrived on Elephant with all the guests dancing on Drums. They were welcomed by both the Mothers and the evening went into Music and Dance. The earlier day practiced “Bollywood dance off” and a Musical band was the attraction and fun for everyone. Décor was inspired by royalty and accent of Elephant.

Day three was completely western, a non-religious “exchange of Vows and Rings” was organised in beautiful lawn settings which was followed by a cocktail hour, Photography session and Polaroid activity. Later in evening a candle lit and Indo-western style sit down Dinner was organised to contain Speeches, Cake cutting, first dance and finally a dance party.
