A Udaipur Winter Wedding | Fateh Vilas | November
Planning a destination wedding is never just about the venue or the visuals. It’s about creating an experience that reflects a couple’s journey—even if that journey spans continents. And while time zones, long-distance calls, and logistical hurdles are part of the process, what matters most is the shared commitment to bring it all together—with grace, patience, and trust.
There’s a different kind of beauty in winter weddings—softer sunlight, crisp air, and a gentle stillness that makes every moment feel suspended in time. Akaash and Neha’s celebration at Fateh Vilas in Udaipur was just that: serene, graceful, and brimming with heartfelt joy.
As planners, we’ve come to understand the rhythm of destination weddings deeply—especially for couples living overseas. With over 23 years of experience designing weddings across cities, cultures, and continents, we’ve learned that no matter where in the world our couples live, their emotions always find their way home.
Planning with couples abroad is something we’ve grown deeply familiar with. Most of our weddings today are virtually curated—with trust, intention, and clear communication at the core. Akaash and Neha, born and raised in the UK, dreamt of a wedding that would feel rooted in tradition yet fluid and relaxed in spirit. From the very beginning, they approached the planning process with clarity and care—and we ensured distance never became a barrier to the experience they had envisioned.
Whether it was sharing digital walkthroughs, building mood boards over calls, or adjusting timelines to match different time zones—it was all about finding rhythm together. The ease came from openness, consistency, and the trust we built from day one. Our role was to translate their ideas and emotions into something tangible—something unforgettable.
This was a traditional Gujarati wedding spread across three thoughtfully planned days, each with its own mood and magic.
Day 1: A Warm Welcome & Starry Night
The first day was all about comfort and celebration. With guests flying in from different parts of the world, the couple wanted the day to feel easy and welcoming. Check-ins were smooth, the mood was relaxed, and as the sun began to dip, the festivities took flight.
That evening, the Sangeet and Mehndi came together as one radiant celebration. With twinkling lights above and music all around, the courtyard lit up with dancing, laughter, and the sound of dhols echoing into the night. It was the perfect balance of elegance and energy—an evening that brought everyone together, effortlessly.
Day 2: Rituals, Radiance & Poolside Joy
The morning began with traditional Pooja ceremonies, held separately for each side of the family—calm, sacred, and full of meaning. These moments often bring a quiet grounding before the larger celebrations, and here too, they did just that.
Soon after, the energy shifted to something much livelier—the Haldi. Hosted at the main poolside area, the space turned into a canvas of yellow, laughter, and playful chaos. Once the rituals wrapped up, the vibe naturally flowed into a splashy, sun-soaked pool party. It wasn’t planned to perfection—it simply felt that way.
Later that evening, things slowed down again. With the wedding scheduled for the next morning, the couple chose to keep the night light and intimate. Guests gathered for a relaxed dinner, soft music played . It was a beautiful pause between high-energy celebrations—filled with heartfelt conversations and quiet excitement.
Day 3: The Wedding Day
Morning brought with it the most awaited moment. The wedding setup, bathed in soft winter sunlight, looked like something out of a royal painting. The Baraat arrived in joyous rhythm, the guests found their seats, and soon after, the bride made her entrance—graceful, radiant, and met with misty eyes and wide smiles.
The ceremony, rooted in Gujarati tradition, was filled with blessings, vows, and a sense of peace that only deep love can bring. Every gesture was meaningful. Every look exchanged between the couple said everything words couldn’t.
After the wedding came the Vidaai—a quiet moment that held so much in its stillness. There were tears, hugs, and a collective sense of gratitude—for all that had been, and all that was about to begin.
Reception & After-Party: A Grand Finale
The evening returned in a whole new mood—an Indo-Western Reception & Cocktail Night that sparkled with joy. The couple made their entrance to cheers, emotional speeches flowed, the first dance unfolded, and glasses clinked to new beginnings. From cake-cutting to champagne toasts, the night was brimming with celebration.
And then came the after-party—unfiltered, untamed, unforgettable. The dance floor was full, the spirits were high, and the air was buzzing with pure joy. It wasn’t about planning anymore. It was just about being present—in every beat, every cheer, every memory made.
